Down to Earth Yoga
The practice
My training is in the lineage of Krishnamacharya and Desikachar, taught by Mark Whitwell through The Heart of Yoga. In this tradition the breath leads and the body follows, and the practice is shaped around the person on the mat. After twenty years as a registered nurse, I bring a holistic, body-first way of paying attention to every class.
What to expect
Classes are small and unhurried, built around the rhythm of your breathing. We move at the pace of the breath, with time to notice what your body is telling you and no pressure to push past it. Whether you're new to a mat or returning after years away, there's a place for you here, in every season of life.
Slow, breath-led yoga for bodies that are tired of striving.
When the breath softens, the body follows. Slow, conscious breathing settles the nervous system, loosens held tension, and brings you back to the present. In class the breath sets the tempo, so you leave steadier than when you arrived. This is yoga you can feel in your whole body, long after you roll up the mat.
